Founded in 2018, Judge Research is the commercial extension of Dr. Nicholas Adams Judge's political economic research into applied problems in tech & finance.

Since 2021, that has taken the form of building AI models for systematic & market making strategies. Particular interests include the design of MoEs to facilitate model interpretability; adapting the transformer for markets; continual learning; and research methodology for the agentic era.

Having developed a lot of experience building AI models, the question looms, “How should this body of work be applied to questions more morally relevant than ‘Will this line go up?’” Using AI to facilitate political empowerment, accelerate science or hinder oligopoly are areas of particular interest.
